Syrah Mourvédre No. 1.1

Powerful and spicy full of rich flavours of dark fruits and pepper.

Our Syrah Mourvèdre No. 1 was our first wine launch and one of our most popular. In fact, we loved Newton Johnson’s 2017 vintage SO much, we begged them to let us can their 2018 version.

No. 1.1 is very similar to No. 1 with a few minor tweaks, it’s slightly less heavy and bold, and more fresh.

What is super interesting about this wine is that it was four years old when it was canned. This is totally unique as we don’t know ANYONE canning wines at this sort of age. It means we’ve retained what we think is its perfect, optimum taste.

This wine is a true rebel, using a blend of two grapes commonly grown in hotter climates, yet created in one much cooler. But going against the grain hasn’t hindered its flavour, combining maturity and earthiness for a complex, yet not-too-heavy wine.

Each can is 250ml, perfect as a 125ml serve for two, or a large serve for one! Three cans is equivalent to a 75cl standard bottle of wine.
